Bromhead medical charity

Through our years of trying to access financial support for auroras medical care over the years she been waiting on NHS lists has been a needle in a haystack. But one charity that stands out I want to dedicate this appreciation post too. 

But first, what is bromhead medical charity? 

Bromhead medical charity was a charity mentioned when in the deep depths of waiting lists. In 2023 i self refered in to access a OT assessment. (Occupational therapist). Her report was 13 pages long! That's right 13! 

The longest her mainstream school senco had ever seen for her students. 13 pages which in depth explained all of auroras sensory needs and my hesrt just sunk partly with relieve to now understand her potential autism and now diagnosed ADHD. But I also felt great sadness that if we had access to this in the first place it would have truly educated us earlier on in our journey. 

Bromhead medical charity was so friendly, easy to access (ensuring criteria is met and living in their operational areas.) Within 2 months aurora had her appointment and it was so user friendly compared to hospital visits. 

The office we attended we beautifully kitted out for a sensory seeking child. Her assessment took no more than a hour and she truly learnt her needs and personality within this time frame for sure! 

Unfortunately i sit here writing this now in 2025 and she still remains on the nhs waiting lists still despite all professionals pushing together in disbelief such a high need young person has been conpletley overlooked for so long.

 Its been 4 years 2 months to date waiting despite expdites of need. All remain rejected eith reasons to conplaints being the service is over run. A excuse im hearing all to often that's just accepted by those in power as OK. But im pretty sure I'd their child's needs where so great they would soon disagree. So i recently got back in touch with the charity  to enquire with regards to her autism assessment.

They also host big events like, hotel dinner parties to fundraise for their cause. A invaluable service tucked in our beautiful lincolnshire area.
