Tourettes community outreach for 10yo fifi
Share
Last night on the drive to drop my daughter off for a sleepover, she asked me a question that stopped me in my tracks.
“Mum… why is there no other people with Tourette’s?”
I smiled softly and told her, “There are millions of people with Tourette’s, darling.”
She paused, looked out the window, and then said quietly,
“Not ones I can meet.”
And just like that, my heart broke.
Fifi is only 10 years old. She’s been living with motor and vocal tics since she was just 7. She is brave, funny, kind, and resilient beyond her years—but tonight she made a point I couldn’t ignore. Knowing you’re not alone is one thing. Feeling it is another.
So here I am, reaching out.
If you have Tourette’s or live with tics, I’m asking for one simple thing: your time.
Please like this post to show your support.
Heart it if you have Tourette’s or tics yourself.
And if you feel able, please share your story in the comments.
Most of all, please share this post.
I want my daughter to see that there are people she can meet—people who understand her, who walk a similar path, and who prove she is never, ever alone.
Thank you for helping me make her world feel a little less lonely tonight. 💙
